In Part 26, I discovered that I was having really intense controllable dreams, (maybe not OBEs) hanging out with these very beautiful girls, and … well … I don’t want to bore you with details. The point is, is that I could do all kinds of things with people I didn’t know. So I asked myself, “Self, you should find out if you can hang with famous people you’ve heard of, seen in the news, etc, but that you’ve never met personally.” So I discovered/created this party place in Paris and had two of my favorite people there, Bridget Bardot and Carlos Santana. Remember, this is the 70s and I’m 16. I tried to hang out with them but I quickly found out that even though this wasn’t real, (seemed real to me) I couldn’t control everything. Carlos and Bridget took off somewhere and I was left looking pretty lame. Very disappointing.
When I got back to reality, it dawned on me that I should find out who and what I could control. I found out that I could deliver m16s to Davy Crocket, Jim Bowie, and the rest of Texan Army at the Alamo, but they couldn’t figure out how to use them in time to beat General Santa Anna’s Mexican army. (The lost battle of the Alamo always bothered me as a kid. And I idolized Davy Crockett – being a country boy.) Also, I could not persuade Hitler to leave the Jewish people alone and was unsuccessful in my assassination attempt. However, I was able to become friends with Mickey Mantle and hung out with Raquel Welch. Where else could I go and who else could I meet?
I then decided to travel to … oops, gotta go. I hit the 2 paragraph mark already.
NEXT WEEK – Where is that?
This week’s blog has been brought to you by Bricklin. This cool looking car was estimated to cost $16,000 to build, but sold for $5000 each to dealers, so the company lost the equivalent in sales of more than two Bricklins for every car built. Needless to say, they went under in 1975. Duh. You’ll find a pic of one of these great looking cars below.
Please remember that my book, The Chosen One, can be found at these fine retailers:
